'The Stories that Pave Our Way'
"The Stories that Pave Our Way" is a Community Arts Project installed in the Camperdown Community Gardens in 2025. The project was commissioned by the Camperdown Community House and funded by an FRRR grant.
Artist Michelle Shearer worked with the Camperdown Community House Team to engage with members of the local community to create a series of art pavers used to make an enduring gathering place in the Community Garden beneith the Sharing Tree - where community swap and share gardening produce and community events occur.
Michelle facilitated members of the local community to design and create bespoke artworks that were then used to pour the individual art pavers. In total there were approximately 200 designs. Community members also assisted in the pouring of the pavers which were then installed in the gardens by their resident garden maintenance person.
