"UP-IN-LIGHTS GALLERY "
  • "UP-IN-LIGHTS GALLERY" is a Warrnambool City Council - Youth Project. 
  • Whilst on a short term contract as "Community Arts Engagement Officer" at WCC in 2021, Michelle was tasked with engaging young people through arts and cultural activities and to activate public spaces.

  • Michelle initiated the creation of this new permanent outdoor exhibition space for young people aged between  12-25 years.  She worked with the Youth Development Team to facilitate the purchase and installation of 4 commercial light boxes that now live in the Timor Walk Laneway in the heart of Warrnambool - creating the first dedicated Youth Exhibition Space in Warrnambool.

  • A call-out to young local artists to submit digital images of their work for consideration was made and 8 artists were selected for their work be professionally printed onto Perspex panels and to go "UP-IN-LIGHTS" for the first of what will now be an annual exhibition managed by WCC Youth Services.
